Les Miserables and Labor Day

Last week Steve and I had a little one night get-away! We went down to the Shakespeare festival in Cedar City and watched Les Miserables. It was amazing- I had seen it before but it was a first for Steve.  It was really good and we both enjoyed the performance. Our whole trip was fun and it was nice to spend time together without the kids, you know- eat dinner at a restaurant in peace, at a place that we wanted to eat at, a nice peaceful car ride, and even though I didn't really sleep in it was great to just lay there and listen to the silence. BUT we did miss them and they were on my mind throughout the day. I did think it was funny before we left Makenna said, "Mom, I'll choose the right with Grandma!" Why can't she choose the right with me? After being home only a few hours I was ready to have a break again. The loves and miss you kisses from Makenna were gone and she was back to her normal self.
Today for Labor Day we went to see my Grandparents. It has been awhile since I'd been so I was glad that I went. The kids enjoyed playing with Aunt Steff and Andrea and Grandpa was telling me stories from when he was in the war. It was a nice visit and Makenna also found all the toys that I used to play with- it was fun to see how much she liked them just like when I was a kid.

Good for you for making a trip to Wanship! Grandpa tells me the same stories, and I loved that play horse too :)
