New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve we had such a good time. Homemade pizza's for dinner with Italian Sodas, played ballon tennis, Guestures and Taboo. But the highlight was the doughnut eating contest. The kids loved trying to eat their doughnut off a string with no hands! Clearly a mess but so worth it. Then they wanted Steve and I to have a contest so we had to try and eat our off the table without hands. Ours did not go as well- Steve was the winner and I didn't want to do it since after the second bite I had gotten doughnut up my nose! I was done! The boys made it till about 9, Steve and I were in bed by 10:30. I'm sure Makenna could have stayed up till 12 but since no one else was she went to bed too. Bring on the New Year!

Christmas

Christmas!! Lots of fun things this year. The kids were up at the crack of dawn but Steve and I held firm and said no unwrapping till 7! We got a kayak this year which we're excited to use this summer. We all are so spoiled but the kids really liked this clay that you can dig out fossils/gems. Caleb did most of his in one day. They all got books and I loved Caleb setting up his area to do some reading. Chase got RC car, they all got legos and Makenna got a cook book and a book to teach you fancy writing-she's pretty good at it. Since none of our extended family was together we had a zoom call with my siblings and parents. We unwrapped our presents from each other, we were supposed to share a talent which we were the only ones who really shared something- we played a song with the chimes. It was good seeing everyone. Such a good day together with those I love most!

Christmas Activites

We didn't have nearly as many Christmas activities this year. No school concerts, not many parties. We did still do things together as a family- getting ice cream, game nights, Christmas Bingo, chimes. One night we went and walked around some lights the city had put up at a park (we were expecting it to be a little bigger, but still nice to get out). Steve and I still had an ugly sweater party to go to. Also on December 21 you could see the Christmas Star-when Jupiter and Saturn align to make it look like a really bright star. It was pretty cool and we all were out looking at it. You could only see it for about 2 hours so we'd do something and then go to the window and check again then go back to doing something and go check it. It was pretty cool, the picture doesn't do it justice.

Thanksgiving

We were on our own for Thanksgiving this year. Jared/Lauren were going to come up but their plans changed, because of Covid no one else really wanted to travel and Steve ended up having to work later in the afternoon. We had a big lunch before Steve left and relaxed the rest of the afternoon. It did end up being a really beautiful weekend and that Sunday we went for a nature walk. It was almost like Steve and I were on a date because the kids were up ahead of us!

Makenna's Birthday

This girl turned 12!! For the day we did a little shopping, she got new roller blades so she went out and did those for a bit. That evening she had her besties Ty, Reagan and Olivia over for dinner and a late night. I hope she knows how much we love her! Happy Birthday Makenna

Girls Weekend-Island Park

Girls Weekend to Island Park with these ladies is one of my favorite weekends. Endless laughing, talking, crafted, went snowshoeing, saw a moose, sitting in the hot tub. Sure love my time with them!

Steve's Birthday

Happy Birthday to Steve!! Nothing to spectacular for the day, pizza and hot wings for dinner. He wanted pictures with his manly beard/mustache which he went and shaved off after! We sure love him and all he does for our family.

Halloween

Halloween! Since it had snowed the week before we had forgotten about the pumpkin on the porch! Steve and Caleb were able to dig out most of the insides but it was too frozen. We let it sit inside overnight and the next morning it was mush, so no jack o'lanterns at our house this year! Caleb was Darth Vader, Chase was Scream and Makenna was a monkey. Makenna ended up going trick or treating with some friends around the neighborhood and the boys and I met up with Graycen's family. I had mentioned to the kids that because of Covid they might not get as much candy as usual because their might not be as many people handing out candy. I think the kids got more than usuall this year! People would put handfuls of candy into their bags. It turned out being a great Halloween!

Fall Break/Anniversary

Steve and I celebrated our 15 year anniversary this year. So over fall break we went to Logan. Our first stop was to the Runhaars. Bailey and Erin got snails and we all wanted to see them! Afterwards we left the kids for the weekend at Jared/Lauren's and were kid free for 3 days! We had such a good time. We stayed at the Anniversary Inn. We were able to spend time with Josh and Chris and tried ax throwing-it's harder than you think! WE ate out a lot. One morning we went and played racquettball. We haven't played since moving from Logan and I have missed it! We loved being able to play racquettball. Steve was able to see his friend Jon. While Steve and Jon were at lunch I went with the Runhaars and tried sushi for the first time. It was really good and afterwards Chris and I went for a little hike up Logan Canyon. We were also able to see Steve's family. When they found out we were in Logan they drove up and we went to dinner Saturday evening. It was such a great weekend together and the kids had a blast being with Jared/Lauren. We decided we want to make this a yearly event!
