Sledding

We took the kids sledding for the first time this weekend. Makenna loved it! She could have stayed the whole day and she even surprised me and would go down by herself. She laughed each time, even when she would tip over and then talk about it all the way back up the hill.
Chase on the other hand was not a fan. He cried the few times he went down and would cry/whimper as he watched us go down. Maybe next year.

18 months

Chase you turned 18 months! You are growing up too fast but I am loving this stage. You weigh 22 lbs and are 33 inches -long and lean! You are learning so much. Your vocabulary has expanded and you now know juice and cheese. Thank you and love  you sound exactly the same and I love that you say it when I put you down for bed- it melts my heart.
You love to vacuum, as soon as dad pulls out the big vacuum you run to find yours.

You have started to take a longer interest in books and your favorite book right now is Go Dogs, Go! I love to catch you reading.
You have mastered the art of lounging. Usually you have your hands behind your head as well. As soon as I lay you in your bed you get all snuggled up with your blankets- which you still love, and put your hands behind your head.
Your not afraid of anyone. You've gone to nursery the past few weeks and we open the door and you head right in without looking back and so far haven't caused a fuss! You wander the rows in sacrament going to anyone who will take you and let you play with the their toys.
You are so busy and into everything. You want to be just like Makenna. You think you can go down the stairs normally, and I've caught you in the knick of time before you try and jump off of Makenna's bed. You climb everything and want to be a big boy.
You still are such a good eater and now have 8 teeth. You love fruit and fruit snacks. You are such a joy and always so happy! We sure love you!

Parakeets

This past weekend Steve was camping with the scouts so me and the kids went to spend the weekend at my parents. Jared and Lauren have parakeets so Jared brought them over to show the kids- they were terrified- they are such big birds.

We probably should get an animal of some sort to help them overcome this fear of animals but I have 3 animals to take care of now, why would I want more:)

Haircut Photo Shoot and Super Bowl

Cousin Steph came last week and gave the kids much needed haircuts. Chase isn't the biggest fan of haircuts any more and he screamed and thrashed the whole time- like he was getting his arms cut off instead of just his hair. But he was great when it was over and once the kids got out of the bath that night they wanted to have a photo shoot of their new do's. Chase was even holding still and smiling so I couldn't pass up the chance.
Makenna's hair was almost touching her bum and was getting to be quite snarly. So far she's loving her hair but I'm waiting for the morning when she asks for a braid like Rapunzel again....

Where has my baby girl gone?
A few days later was the super bowl spent with Steve's family at his brothers house. We had a great time and Steve's aunt and uncle from Wisconsin were in town, so good to see them! Family pictures were taken, good food, good company, cribbage, and a little football!

Makenna loves Steph!
