4 months old!

This litle man turned 4 months old! He still is just the sweetest thing, he probably gets a bazillion kisses throughout the day. He is 14.5 lbs and 25.5 inches with the cutest little chubby legs!

*At 4 months he's rolled over a few times but I don't think he realizes what he does.
*He always has his hands in his mouth and this past weekend he discovered his tongue and pokes out the end of it.

*He doesn't like loud noises which causes a problem due to having a loud, screaming sister. Sometimes he just gives me this look of, "Why do I have to put up with this mom?" as Makenna is in his face.
* He is quite ticklish and his little giggle just makes me giggle too.

*He's been a turkey at sleeping lately at night. Some nights he'll get up once and other nights its like he's a newborn again.
*He really is the happiest, most content baby. He loves to sit in his little chair and watch us all- except at meal times and then he wants to sit with me up at the table.
We sure love this little bundle!

Santa Visit

This is how our trip to see Santa went this year....

That cute 3 year old acted just like that trying to get family pictures a few weeks ago too! Maybe next year she'll like him.

Temple Square

Last week we went to Temple Square to see the lights. It was so much fun. We went on a Monday night at 5:30 and it was perfect- not a lot of people and not too cold. It's always one of my favorite things to do during Christmas.

Thanks for going with us Mark and Steff!

November Catch Up

The end of November always goes so quickly at our house since we always have so much fun and I wanted to post about it before I post Christmas things. All in one week is Steve and I's anniversary, Makenna's birthday and Thanksgiving.

For our anniversary this year Steve took me to this amazing restaurant, Corbins. It was an anniversary only type place (we've never spent that much money for a meal for just the two of us) it was amazing. I had this crab, lobster stuff on rice - it had a cool name, and Steve had prime rib. For dessert we had cake that had warm hot fudge in the middle with ice cream, it was sooo good. I came home so full my stomach was hurting, but it was worth it. Steve also was so sweet and when we got to the restaurant there was a bouquet of flowers waiting for me at our table! It was a great day.

Next we had Makenna's birthday. I can't believe she's 3!! I can't belive how fast time goes. Just look at this cute little face (She's 1 in this picture) She's goes from this cute face to...

this cute face!

She truly is such a joy, a handful a lot of the time, but adorable none the less. At the age of 3 she loves to dress up, paint her fingernails, play with her Jessie doll, barbies, Rapunzel, sing songs, read stories and boss us all around. She acts like she is a brave soul but really she won't do anything without me- she's a timid one! She is a horrible eater, I'm not even going to post what her diet is like due to embarrasment from all my dietitian friends, it is getting better though.

She loves being with her daddy. He takes her to football and basketball games and she just loves it. She does love Chase but doesn't act like it very much due to her always screaming in his face, scaring him, laying on him, but I do catch her saying she loves him on occasion. My favorite is when I'm tucking her in for bed and she gives me a big kiss and tells me that she loves me!

She had a great birthday this year filled with many presents, grandmas, bowling and cake and ice cream. It was funny we had her presents sitting on the counter and when she got up and came into the kitchen she said, " Look mom Santa came!"

Love you Makenna!

Thanksgiving was up at Steve's moms this year. While it wasn't the best due to Makenna not feeling well, we still had a good day. We ate yummy food and had good company. I made these fun turkeys to share at dinner.

Some of us girls also made these cute fabric wreaths and have decided we need to do a craft from now on.

Hogle Zoo

This week we went to Hogle Zoo with Kira and Misha. We had so much fun and the weather cooperated so we just had to wear a few layers and it was great.

While I'm glad that we now get Steve home every night we sure miss our friends in Logan... A LOT! We were so excited to see Kira and Misha. The little girls held hands and talked the whole time while Misha and I didn't hold hands, but we also just talked the whole day.

Even though the animals are great, both Makenna and Kira just wanted to ride the train and carousel the whole day.

It was a great day! Thanks Kira and Misha we can't wait till we get to see you again.

A Birthday Blessing

November has become one of my favorite months because we have so many fun things happening and this time around it started out great. We finally blessed Chase last Sunday which was also Steve's birthday. We had so much fun spending the day with family and friends, I feel so loved. Thanks for everyone who came!

Chase was so handsome and good the whole day. I can't believe how lucky I am to have him. He's been going to bed at 7:30 and only getting up once during the night and is up at 7 with sister. He smiles and talks to me all the time. I wish that I could just freeze him to stay at this age, he's so sweet.

Halloween 2011

Belle and Froggy

We had a great Haloween. It was so fun taking Makenna around the neighborhood, her favorite part was having everyone tell her how pretty she was-she really could care less about the candy. Although we saw Woody and Buzz and she said she wanted to go home and dress like Jessie... Maybe next year!

How do I make it Stop?

Attention all mothers with girls. Are your girls always screaming? Makenna has been so loud. She shouts everything, screams, squeals, roars, you name it at about 10x louder than she used too (She's especially good at it when she knows Chase is sleeping) I don't know how to make it stop. She's been sent to her room, toys taken away, a good talking to and nothing is helping. I praise her when she is talking in a normal voice but even the positive attention isn't helping either. She is such a turkey and is driving me nuts!!

She has been funny too though. She is on this married kick. She goes around the house asking Steve and I if we'll marry her and how you get married is you have to kiss her on the lips. She watches too many princess shows.

She also has expanded her food horizons this week. Normally she doesn't eat anything at dinner unless it's something in the dairy department because she won't eat what I make and I am not a short order cook. However, due to us making sugar cookies last Sunday they have been used as bribery and every night this week she has eaten what has been put on her plate! I can't believe it because we usually have some sort of a treat after dinner anyways but I guess she's a sucker for sugar cookies. Hopefully it continues because the last cookie was eaten tonight.

This little man just melts my heart! I said that in the last post, I know. He's always smiling and talking to me. He's also only been getting up once at night and has been in bed between 8 and 8:30. I am loving having somewhat of an evening to myself and getting more sleep.

Love them!

Are you helping to stimulate the economy?

I can't believe its only been two months since I last posted, which was when Chase was born. It has been such a crazy two months that it feels like Chase should be a lot older. But Steve and I have been busy helping out the economy so I hope you all are doing your part because we're done for a while.

These past two months Chase has grown so much. When he was first born he was this scrawny little thing and now he has become quite the chunk. I love his little rolls and chubby cheeks. He really has been a piece of heaven. He is so calm and happy. Heavenly Father knew I needed someone low maintenance because Makenna has kicked it up about 20 notches. I'm not sure if it's due to all of the change lately or because she's almost three, but I have to remind myself that I do love her more than once during the day.

This little guy just warms my heart. In Makenna's defence she has been a pretty good helper with Chase and has been saying some funny things. She has been obsessed with the time lately, always asking what time it is. She also has been saying that she doesn't have any teeth like Chase when she doesn't want to eat something (which is often:)
They both make my world and I love them!

Not only did we pay for a baby but we also had to buy a new car. Steve has been borrowing his mom's car the past six months while commuting for work. But the car started having some issues and it was time to get something more reliable. So we bought a Kia Sorento. I love it! It's nice having more room and a car more familyish.

And then for the biggest purchase of all we bought a house. Our house finally sold! A week after Chase was born we got an offer on our house, 3 days later we were looking for one and made an offer and we moved in last weekend.
We had so much help moving, it was great. Thanks to everyone!

We loved this house. So many memories, but we're excited for the adventure ahead. It is so great having Steve home every day again. Makenna and I are in heaven. It's amazing how everything worked out with Chase's birth, and selling our house. A reminder to me once again that Heavenly Father knows what he is doing and we just have to trust him.

Camping 2011

A few weeks ago we went camping up by Bear Lake. We had such a good time especially because we went with some of our favorite friends! The girls spent a lot of time wandering around, we had yummy food, played games, shot the BB guns, went to Minnetonka Caves and went to the lake. It was such a fun weekend.

Yummy marshmallows! Can't wait to go camping again next year.

Little things I don't want to forget

Makenna has been pushing her buttons A LOT lately. There have been a few days where I have to remind myself that I really do love her and that she does mean the world to me. So to help me on the days that she has cloth ears and is throwing a tantrum about EVERYTHING I wanted to write down some of the funny things she's been saying so I don't forget.

* Swimsoup= swimsuit
* Mango= Nemo
* Dirthday= birthday
* Pedow= pillow
* While we were lighting fireworks this year she kept saying that the firworks were so sweaty instead of smoky.
*We have this conversation about 10 times a day.
M: Mom I 2.
Me: I know, you're getting so big!
M: On my dirthday I be 3.
Me: You will be three. When is your birthday?
M: In 2 weeks. (Oh November is so far away)
But everything is always in two weeks and that she did that yesterday. "I don't need to brush my teeth cause I did it yesterday. Or I don't need to eat because I did that yesterday."
*Mom, Daddy stinks he needs to take a shower.
* When she's wearing her flip flops and one comes off she says, " I Cinderella"
* The other day we were sharing a bowl of ice cream and she says, Mom you share good!
* This year we didn't plant a garden and Makenna has loved being able to dig around in the dirt. She is filthy everyday and leaves a ring in the bathtub a lot more than I would like. She'll get out of the bathtub and say, Mom you need to clean the tub!

Oh how I love you Makenna!

Children's Museuem and Hill Air Force Base

So last month Chris and I took the girls to Ogden to the Children's Museum. It was such a fun place and you could spend all day there (if you wanted) The girls loved it! There is so much to do and fun activities.

There was a fake cow in a barn nearby and you could pretend to milk it, Makenna thought it was real and got a little scared.

They had some of the kids acting out parts to the story and Erin was picked to come up and help. Well if Erin was going up so was Makenna. Chris and I laughed because she just trotted right up to the stage area. After a few minutes though she decided she really didn't want to participate and came and sat down next to Bailey. The poor worker was so confused by my child but I got a laugh out of it.

This was after we'd been home for maybe 15 min. I came upstairs and she was sound asleep on the chair! I'm not kidding she was asleep just like this. It was a great day.

Also a few weeks ago we went to the Hill Air Force Base Museum. Makenna loves planes and enjoyed wandering around looking at the planes up close.

On a side note Makenna got her hair trimmed up and the lady who does our hair made hers all cute and curly after she was done cutting it. Makenna flounced around the rest of the day telling us she looked so pretty, she is such a girl.
