Easter Eggs

I can't believe it's Easter! On Sunday we dyed our Easter eggs. Thanks to my friend Chris for the idea, last year we started blowing the eggs out. No, I don't do it all at once. I start doing it weeks before we're going to dye them. Just blowing a few out at a time as I'm making things and then saving the shells. I love doing it this way because they become our table center piece, we get to enjoy our work and they are our meal converstaion most of the time. Makenna is always taking them out and discussing them while we eat. I also don't end up with all of these hard boiled eggs in my fridge that now I have to eat.
Makenna was so excited this year and loved every minute!
This picture is deceiving because it looks like Chase was being good but he wasn't. We had given him an egg with a crayon thinking he would like it but instead he threw the egg on the floor! So Steve did one egg and then the boys went off to find some toys and Makenna and I did the rest.

Date with Makenna

We took Makenna on a date to the movies yesterday and went and saw The Croods. She really liked the show but I think she loved that she was with us the most. All morning she kept saying to Chase, "Sorry Chase you don't get to go to the movies." I'm glad he didn't understand or there would have been a lot of tears.

Children's Museum AGAIN!

We met Misha and Kira at the Children's Museum again last week and we loved every minute of it. Makenna was so excited to see Kira, she had a plan of what they were going to do and was even willing to include Chase. I was just as excited as Makenna, it was the best way to spend the day. The kids had a blast and even Chase did great playing all morning.

The medieval section and the kitchen area were the huge hit this time.

This is one of the few pictures I got of the girls together. Every time I went to take a picture Kira would move. But these two were inseperable. I'm always amazed at how well they play. I can't think of a time that they haven't gotten along. There is no drama, crying, fighting. Ever-it's the best.

Nothing better than a good book

Afterwards we went to the park and had lunch while the kids kept playing. So fun, we can't wait to see them again soon!

Sidenote: I didn't get any pictures but the leprachaun came to our house. We had a trap for him with gold but he stole his gold and left our house in a mess! He turned the milk green and our noodles for dinner, left us treats, Lucky Charms and some green juice. That sneaky guy- Makenna's already making plans for next year on how to catch him!

Fire Station

Last week Makenna's preschool went to the Library and Fire Station. We went to the library first but we should have just gone to the fire station. The kids were so excited to go there. They watched a little clip about fire safety and now Makenna keeps asking if there is smoke in our house since we have fire detectors.
They got to go inside one of the trucks and then wander around one outside. They also could try on a helmet but  Makenna didn't want to because she told me she doesn't want to be a fireman when she grows up.

It was a lot of fun and I'm glad I'm able to go on the field trips with Makenna!
