New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve we had such a good time. Homemade pizza's for dinner with Italian Sodas, played ballon tennis, Guestures and Taboo. But the highlight was the doughnut eating contest. The kids loved trying to eat their doughnut off a string with no hands! Clearly a mess but so worth it. Then they wanted Steve and I to have a contest so we had to try and eat our off the table without hands. Ours did not go as well- Steve was the winner and I didn't want to do it since after the second bite I had gotten doughnut up my nose! I was done! The boys made it till about 9, Steve and I were in bed by 10:30. I'm sure Makenna could have stayed up till 12 but since no one else was she went to bed too. Bring on the New Year!

Christmas

Christmas!! Lots of fun things this year. The kids were up at the crack of dawn but Steve and I held firm and said no unwrapping till 7! We got a kayak this year which we're excited to use this summer. We all are so spoiled but the kids really liked this clay that you can dig out fossils/gems. Caleb did most of his in one day. They all got books and I loved Caleb setting up his area to do some reading. Chase got RC car, they all got legos and Makenna got a cook book and a book to teach you fancy writing-she's pretty good at it. Since none of our extended family was together we had a zoom call with my siblings and parents. We unwrapped our presents from each other, we were supposed to share a talent which we were the only ones who really shared something- we played a song with the chimes. It was good seeing everyone. Such a good day together with those I love most!

Christmas Activites

We didn't have nearly as many Christmas activities this year. No school concerts, not many parties. We did still do things together as a family- getting ice cream, game nights, Christmas Bingo, chimes. One night we went and walked around some lights the city had put up at a park (we were expecting it to be a little bigger, but still nice to get out). Steve and I still had an ugly sweater party to go to. Also on December 21 you could see the Christmas Star-when Jupiter and Saturn align to make it look like a really bright star. It was pretty cool and we all were out looking at it. You could only see it for about 2 hours so we'd do something and then go to the window and check again then go back to doing something and go check it. It was pretty cool, the picture doesn't do it justice.
