Makenna's Baptism

Makenna was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on December 10. The whole weekend was a tender mercy from Heavenly Father. Its not fun to drive in the snow in Montana and that whole week before we were watching the weather like hawks. It kept saying that it was going to be stormy the weekend of Makennas baptism and my family and Misha were wanting to come. Obviously  if it was bad weather then they wouldn't be able to make it. All of us were praying hard that it would be good weather for traveling. The Thursday night before, it started to snow but Friday we woke up to sunshine! Everyone was able to make it up here safely. Then Friday evening it started snowing again and snowed all day Saturday but Sunday we woke up to clear skies and a beautiful day and everyone made it home safely. I was so grateful to Heavenly Father for answering our prayers, I know he cares about us!
Friday evening we just hung out at our house. It was so nice and the kids just soaked up being with everyone.
Makenna's baptism was perfect. I was so proud of her and grateful that Steve is able to baptize our children. Makenna was glowing the whole day and she just kept saying how happy she was! Makenna was the only one from our ward to be baptized which means we were in charge of the whole program- another reason why I needed my family to come, they were half the program! Makenna's primary teacher and Mark did the prayers. Lauren gave a talk about baptism, the primary president gave a talk on the holy ghost and Grandma (my mom) and Steffani played and lead the music. The kids in Makenna's primary class came with their families and Makenna invited her neighbor friends, who are not members to come too. It all turned out so well.

After her baptism we invited everyone to stay and have a little lunch in the church gym.

It's "Great to be 8!" donuts....
I am so grateful that all of these people could come and share this special day with Makenna.

Since all of my family was staying in a hotel we decided to go swimming that afternoon. It was fun except the water was so cold, so we mainly stayed near the hot tub!

This is why we have uncles, to pull us around like a train.
And this is why we have Grandma's to hold the babies.
After swimming I think the kids were a little tired. They didn't get a whole lot of sleep the night before- how can you when one of your best friends is spending the night?! It was so fun watching Makenna and Kira as they were having their sleepover and reminded Misha and I of the good 'ol days when we had sleepovers too!
That night we all went out to eat and then we decorated gingerbread houses afterwards.

It really was one of the best weekends ever!!!
