I love to see the Temple

For Family Home Evening a couple of weeks ago we talked about the temple and looked at pictures, then in nursery they talked about the temple and Makenna has talked about the temple every day since. So for FHE this week we actually went to see the temple. We bundled up and went for a short walk in front of the temple.

It was so fun and the whole time Makenna kept saying how pretty the temple is.

This 2 year-old stage is tough but also so fun. Every day she asks if it's church day, if we can go see the temple, and my favorite is her babbling her own prayer when we're saying prayers and she is including all those who are dear to her heart: Carter, Jack, Erin, Bailey (all her friends) and Tobey (the neighbors dog whom she is terrified of but talks about constantly). It warms my heart and brings a smile to my face.

We have a secret?

The secret is out, at the end of August Makenna's life will be turned upside down because we're having a baby! Sometimes I wonder what I'm getting myself into, some days I can barely handle Makenna what will I do with two?
We're excited but I think my excitement is different this time than it was for Makenna (did anyone else feel like this?) I'm not nieve this time and so I know the things that I'm not looking forward to... pure exhaustion, spit up, poop on clothes etc. But there are things that I am excited about which outweigh the things I'm not... holding another baby that I love so much, watching Makenna make a new best friend, joy that a new person will bring to our family, little clothes, a little hand holding on to my finger.
A new adventure is ahead, only 6 more months to go.

Sweet Valentines

Makenna and I made sugar cookies because what would Valentines be without them! We had so much fun and Makenna did an amazing job with the cookie cutter and loved every minute.

I didn't really think about her getting flour all over(don't ask what I was thinking) but thank heavens for washing machines.
