Minnesota-Part 2

After a few water days we decided to be tourists in Duluth. We visited the US Hockey Hall of Fame(It was right across the street from our hotel). They had some fun interactive activites upstairs. We also went to Enger Tower and Park that looks over Duluth and the Aerial Lift Bridge.

We then of course had to go to the Aerial Lift Bridge, sadly no ships were coming in so we didn't get to see the bridge lifted. We walked out to the tower though and we got to touch Lake Superior. It was fun having Debbie come along with us that day as well!

We also went to the aquarium that day and this was the only picture I took while there.

Minnesota-Part 1

We were able to go to Minnesota again this summer to see Steve's extended family and we had such a good time. We spent a few days at the lake at Debbie's cabin. It was a bit chilly the days we were there so I chose not to get in the water but that didn't stop Steve and the kids from getting in. They had a great time going down the slide and trying out the water ball.

Probably on the warmest day we were in Minnesota Steve, Makenna and I went kayaking on the Brule River with Tim, Deedee, Autumn and her girls and Glen. It was the longest day! The river was so slow with only a few spots with some rapids. We were paddling most of the way! It was long. We got in the river at about 11 am and didn't get done until 5-6. We did stop for a bit for lunch but it was long. It was beautiful along the way but we all agreed that it was too much. So glad I had left Chase and Caleb with Debbie that day. They had much more fun visiting the candy shops and having ice cream.

All the kids care about though is if the hotel has a good pool which ours did. It was great ending each day with them swimming in the pool and hot tub.

It wouldn't be the Jasper's if we didn't get ice cream!

Goodbye

Our friend Megan had a baby so Makenna and I had to go see him. They also were moving within the next week so it was a bitter sweet visit. Megan also was Makenna's YW leader and loves her so much. Megan's kids (Brooks and Lucy) love "Kenna" as their babysitter and it was hard saying goodbye. We sure do love Megan and her family.

Hot Air Balloon Ride

I went on a hot air ballon ride with friends (Caroline, Ashley, Jena)! We had to be there by 6:30 in the morning and it lastest about 1 1/2 hours. Hot air ballons can go a lot faster than they look, I was surprised. It was so much fun and so beautiful and peaceful. I definatley would do it again!

Runhaars Come Visit

The Runhaars came to visit for a few days. When they got here Steve thought it'd be funny to take a picture with the girls and Odouls and send it to Josh to let him know the party has started!

Thursday we went to the Lewis and Clark Caverns. It had been a few years since the Runhaars had been.

Friday we went up to Hyalite and hiked Grotto falls and took the kayaks. Makenna, Chase and Caleb ended up being the only ones to go out on the kayaks since it was kind of windy but they had a great time.

Friday evening the boys went camping and us girls went to the Gallatin Speedway for the races. Chris, Erin, Makenna and I won a free beer! We won the dance challenge to the Macerana. It was hilarious and we gave our free coupon to the people sitting behind us for cheering us on.

Saturday we went shopping downtown and played lots of games. Always a good time when they come to visit.
