Swim lessons

For a month this summer Makenna took swim lessons. This was our first time doing swim lessons and she loved it! She became quite the fish and passed both sessions that we were in. She loved it so much she was disappointed on the last day when they just played water games instead of practicing floating on their backs, rocket arms and swimming arms. Hopefully this winter we can get in another round of lessons because I saw huge improvements. She now only wants to take a shower and doesn't freek out when water gets in her face and she was a good swimmer.

While Makenna would be swimming Caleb did this...
And Chase played on the little playground they have. He made two new little friends and every day the three boys would play the whole time. It was quite the relaxing half an hour for me:)

No Training Wheels!

So it was last fall when I posted about Makenna getting her training wheels off of her bike but then it was winter, and then this spring there was no way I was going to run next to her while I was pregnant and Steve I think just didn't want to run next to her, so he put her training wheels back on. Well she started asking again to take off her training wheels. So all of last week she was out practicing, going up and down the sidewalk trying to get her balance. She didn't want any help- I tried to help hold her up one time and she just got mad at me and said she wanted to do it by a herself, and on Sunday she finally got it! She is now a pro at riding her bike and has asked every morning since if she can go outside and ride her bike. Sunday evening the neighbors were out and she was out riding and she came running in with a huge grin saying all the neighbors were cheering for her, and even a couple of the older girls in the neighborhood have been riding their bikes with her, she feels pretty cool!
She is one determined and hard working little girl and we're so proud of her!

3 months

This cute boy turned 3 months this past week! Time is going so fast and he changes so quickly. He is getting chunky little legs that I just love. He loves to be up with us all the time. He doesn't like being in his chair off to the side while we have dinner, or trying to get something done- he wants to be up on my lap with us. He is quick to smile and coo at us. Even while I was taking these pictures he was chatting with me:)
He has discovered his fists and they are constantly in his mouth or if he is laying down he is holding them up in the air looking at them. He loves taking a bath- he smiles the whole time. He is a momma's boy. When he is starting to get ornery he will cry until I take him- even if Steve is holding him trying to calm him down- he cries till I take him- It warms my heart. Something else that warms my heart is when he gets so excited when I come to get him out of bed. He waves his arms and kicks his legs and pulls the biggest smile:)

He is a terrible sleeper during the day. I'm lucky if he takes a 45 min nap, unless of course I'm holding him and then he is good for a while. But he is a great sleeper at night. He has been going to bed at about 8:30 and getting up sometime between 4-5:30 and then' getting up for the day between 7:30-8. Its great! He just is so sweet and we sure love him!

24 of July

We had our annual neighborhood 24 of July party and it was so much fun. Have I mentioned how we have such great neighbors? All the kids decorated their bikes and rode around, we had dinner and fireworks afterwards.

These 3 girls are so cute! Makenna plays with Liv and Lilly almost every day- such good girls and cute friends!

Poor Chase- I think he had his ears covered the whole evening, long before the fireworks started. He was not a fan and Steve ended up taking him home after the first few fireworks. Makenna was in heaven though- staying up late and being with friends.

Caleb's Blessing

On Sunday we blessed our little Caleb. It was perfect and he looked so handsome. I'm so blessed to have Steve be able to have the priesthood to bless our children. He did great and Caleb was calm- so calm I was told he let out a little squeaker during the prayer:) We were blessed to have our families with us to enjoy the day!

We even managed to get a big family picture with my family.

And thanks to Lauren for bringing her camera and being my photographer.
Thanks to our families for sharing this day with us, We love you! We love our little Caleb too!

4 of July

The 4 of July was pretty low key for us. Steve had to work so the thought of being out in the heat with the kids by myself did not sound appealing. I bought kids meals for lunch and we threw pop its in the driveway. It was perfect. That night Steve and Caleb stayed home and I took the other two to the fireworks. It was the first time I've taken Chase. He loved the playing before hand and eating treats but was not a fan of the fireworks. He cried and kept asking if we could go home. Eventually he stopped crying and just put his arm over his eyes and peeked out just a little bit.

We went with our friends the Muhlesteins and the Grows and Mark and Steff joined us too. It was a great evening!

Day at the Beach

Since we are not going to the beach this summer the kids made one in our front room last week! They put on their swim suits and pulled out there towels. The foam pad was the sand and my comforter was the ocean. They loved it! They had their pretend food for a bit and then had their real lunch on their towels. I love it when they play so well toegether and love that they have each other to play with because I'm not nearly as fun. It's funny because I think the next day they pulled out their winter hats and gloves:)
I also finally got some pictures of Caleb smiling. He is a smiler and loves to be talked to. At his 2 month apt. he weighed 12 lbs 13 oz and 23 inches long. He is such a good boy. He has been getting up only once at night and starting to do better at naps during the day, still not great but better. If you talk to him he will coo right back at you and pull a big smile. He loves to cuddle up to me and I soak it all up. Love my kids!
