4 months

My baby turned 4 months this week. I love this stage- I just want him to stay just like this! He weighs 14 lbs and is 24.5 inches. He is such a happy boy. He chats and giggles- Makenna  is the best at getting him to laugh, and his fingers are always in his mouth! He is super close to rolling over- if only he didn't have a shoulder in the way. He is getting better at naps during the day- still not great but better and still good at night, usually up just once.
He loves to watch the other two and puts up with them always being in his face or touching him- although I can't seem to handle it anymore!
The other day I came home to find this...so cute!
He is just so precious and it is selfish of me but what I love most is that he adores me. He kicks his legs so fast when I come into the room, he just wants me when he is sad and he still snuggles right up to me. Love it!

Aquarium

On Chases' actual birthday we went to the aquarium. It was so fun but even more fun because we went with friends. Misha, Aja and LeeAnne met us there with their kids and it was a great day. I think the favorite was the penguins. The kids stood there a long time watching them swim around and we even got to see them feed the penguins.
They had this rope bridge that you could walk across which Makenna thought was cool.
Between the four of us mom's there were 11 kids- and these two babies were the easiest to keep track of:)

The 9 other cute kids and their backsides:) This was the only time they were all watching the same thing together and I'm extra proud I got a picture of it- I love it!
 Our sweet shark faces....
 And our mean shark faces...

Chase is in love with Kira!

Chase turned 3!

Chase turned 3 last week! I can't believe he is three. The day before his birthday we had Grandma's/Grandpa and Andrea over for dinner. He was so excited and he was spoiled rotten with all of his presents.
It was the birthday filled with trucks and superhero stuff.
Makenna got him some Lightning sunglasses, which he looks pretty stylish in!
He was so timid opening presents but Andrea and Makenna were there to help him out.
He wanted a Superman cake, which I think turned out well. He didn't want us to light the candles though- that is way to scary but he loved having us sing to him!

A few weeks ago when I asked Chase what he wanted for his birthday he firmly said "I want Superman cake with William!" I knew I could handle that and so glad that William (and his family) came for cake and ice cream:)
Thanks family for coming to celebrate with Chase, he loved it!

This little man has been a handful. Whoever came up with the saying, terrible two's, obviously never had a three-year-old. I think 3 is much harder than 2. He still is sweet- it's just hiding more often than it used to. He loves to torment Makenna(which she probably deserves) and has started spitting again! He still is in the crib and I don't want to give it up because sometimes I need him caged:)
Even though they torment each other Makenna and Chase do play really well together and I love it when they do! He wants to do everything that Makenna does. We are working on friend skills- so we play with William and have had some other neighbor boys over a few times, although usually he ends up playing with the neighbor girls and Makenna most days. I think it's funny when he wants me to play with him. We end up being superhero's playing house! But he is all boy and does the sound effects to everything he is playing with... dinosaurs, trucks, superheroes- he's got it. He can count to 13 and knows his colors. He is bummed that he isn't going to school but I hope to do some activities with him while Makenna is gone in the afternoon. His favorite food is pop tarts and chocolate! This morning he told me he wanted to marry me:)!
We love you Chase!

Ogden Temple

So it was my birthday a few weeks ago and Steve even had the day off so we went to the Ogden Temple Open House. It was a great way to spend the afternoon and the temple was beautiful.
The kids favorite part were the fountains of course.

I love my family!

A few days later we were able to go again with Misha and Kira. So glad we could go again!

Swim lessons

For a month this summer Makenna took swim lessons. This was our first time doing swim lessons and she loved it! She became quite the fish and passed both sessions that we were in. She loved it so much she was disappointed on the last day when they just played water games instead of practicing floating on their backs, rocket arms and swimming arms. Hopefully this winter we can get in another round of lessons because I saw huge improvements. She now only wants to take a shower and doesn't freek out when water gets in her face and she was a good swimmer.

While Makenna would be swimming Caleb did this...
And Chase played on the little playground they have. He made two new little friends and every day the three boys would play the whole time. It was quite the relaxing half an hour for me:)

No Training Wheels!

So it was last fall when I posted about Makenna getting her training wheels off of her bike but then it was winter, and then this spring there was no way I was going to run next to her while I was pregnant and Steve I think just didn't want to run next to her, so he put her training wheels back on. Well she started asking again to take off her training wheels. So all of last week she was out practicing, going up and down the sidewalk trying to get her balance. She didn't want any help- I tried to help hold her up one time and she just got mad at me and said she wanted to do it by a herself, and on Sunday she finally got it! She is now a pro at riding her bike and has asked every morning since if she can go outside and ride her bike. Sunday evening the neighbors were out and she was out riding and she came running in with a huge grin saying all the neighbors were cheering for her, and even a couple of the older girls in the neighborhood have been riding their bikes with her, she feels pretty cool!
She is one determined and hard working little girl and we're so proud of her!
